Over the last little while I've spent some time working on some new bits and pieces that I'm quite fond of :D

I made a couple more diorama rings, one with a ladybird and one with a caterpillar

some little bracelets that are covered in tentacles :D

and a set that's still a work in progress. there's air bubbles ARGHHHH!!! I've drilled some holes into the outside of the black part which hope to end up putting some pretty stones/crystals in funky colours in :)

then there was what to do with some old coins which I used to make pendants, rings, brooches, pins and cuff links. these ones are in blue green and black, but there's also orange

I'm Back :D

Photobucket

Hi!!!!

It's been a a couple of months since I last blogged, I took a break from crafting for a little while there to get used to being a new mum all over again after giving birth to a baby boy :D he's one of my 2 best creations lol.

I've really missed making stuff, and now that baby is in a bit of a routine I've made a few little pieces here and there to get ready for Crafternoon-tea which is coming up on August 21st (Saturday) in Kingsland.

The first thing I sat down to make was this little ring. Under a thick layer of doming resin there's a little garden scene with grass, pebbles, soil, some toadstools and a little snail on a leaf all made using polymer clay. It took me quite a while to make but am really happy that it turned out so cutesy.

another lot of things I made were these little broaches and magnets using bottle tops and resin
Photobucket

and more little photo cards with some of my favourite photos :)

What I realllly want to do is get hold of some 'PMC' or precious metal clay, it looks like it would be great to work with with so many possibilities :D

pressed flowers

Hi Again!!

now that I have a little bit of time on my hands, one of my newest hobbies is pressing flowers,
I don't have many in my garden at the moment so have been using regular flowers and tiny little flowers from weeds.. which I like (:

after doing that I thought it would be a good idea to put some into some jewellery (:

newer stuff (:

most recently I've been making bangles and pendants using resin (:

resin
there's also a blueberry pie ring resting against the purple bangle there!
I have plans for many more bangle styles that I'll make over the next little while (:

For christmas I decided to make as many presents as I could
I started with making stuff for my sister..
she does diving and likes sea creatures such as nudibranchs and other weird things so I decided to make her a sea monster necklace. it was meant to be an octopus but it wouldn't fit both eyes and all the tentacles so I had to improvise
it took quite a while, and choosing the colour was hard so I ended up making a few - a green one, a purple one and an orange one, my favourite was the purple one which I gave her on short purple ribbon choker.

the eyes were purchased at a 'love handmade' market from a lady who designs and makes dolls with interchangeable eyes and hair

these tiny little guys are day of the dead insprired skulls (:

the big one isn't a piece of jewellery but sits on my 'shelf of stuff I like to look at'

anyways, that's all for now, but I hope to have another blog up next week with more new stuff!!

don't forget to visit the blogs I follow for other craft people and neat stuff (:

TIKIS!

another thing I like to make a lot of is Tiki stuff. I haven't quite gone so crazy and made the tiki cushion yet but that's not to say I haven't been thinking about it.. a lot.

these were one of the first - woven tikis
I made them as decorations and also broaches in different colours

Through selling these on trademe I got in contact with this neat lady who makes and sells some really cool necklaces, her website is:
http://www.tepono.com/
and she also has some stuff on this polymer clay website:
http://www.polymerclay.co.nz/galleries/vickimorehu.html

stuff I made between then and now (:

After all the little stuff and the lollies I started making more bits and pieces out of all sorts of things

my small cake obsession didn't stop at tiny cakes either..
cake cushion

around the same time I started scrapbooking and ended up making this box out of a book, now I store a lot of the things I make in these book boxes or in cigar boxes

and sewing more stuff - this is my frog lady. I like frogs.. a lot..

someone requested this..
strawberry necklace

among all this there are plenty of unfinished projects too, just piling up and waiting to be finished. my partner always points out I have so many unfinished things, but at the same time I have way more that have been finished (:

Lolly beads

after making lots and lots of dollhouse foods, I started making bigger stuff out of polymer clay - lolly beads to make necklaces bracelets and earrings

I had a lot of practice looking at lollies and then eating them before I started trying to make them, my favourites are spearmint leaves, jet planes and licorice...

It took a fair bit of practice but finally got them how I wanted them then started supplying them to a local shop - La Dolce Vita in Westfield St Lukes, about 3 years ago and also selling them on trademe and more recently at craft markets like Crafternoon-tea and Love handmade. Each one is different depending on the mood/candy craving of the day

here's some photos of a couple
lolly necklace 1

necklace 2

lolly necklace 3

The necklaces come in 2 sizes, a shorter one which is suitable for children or people who like them a bit tighter or a longer one for people who like them that way! The bracelets also come in a couple of sizes (:

Dollhouse foods (:

Welcome to my first ever crafts blog (:
I've been planning on starting one for quite a long time but I'm a bit of a procrastinator, and since it's my first I'm starting with what I started with...
polymer clay

Back when I was a kid my friend and I used to make our 'trolls' (the ugly pot belly dolls with sticky up hair) food out of fimo/polymer clay and when my daughter was born I started making her some little foods in anticipation of her having things like barbie or sylvanian families etc.

She's now almost 6, and has her own 3 storied dollhouse for about 13 Barbies and 1 ken who takes turns marrying them all...and all their 'children'
I'm still making the foods, but now they get sold either as dollhouse foods, or sometimes I take it a little bit further and make them into jewellery

Here are photos of some of the things I currently make and sell:
(note that there's plenty of other stuff not shown in the photos such as burgers, legs of ham, hotdogs, filled rolls bacon and eggs etc)

dollhouse foods 3
Donuts, cookies and Cake

dollhouse foods 2
Jellies and pies

dollhouse foods 1
In the fridge: top shelf pizza and sushis
2nd shelf: bagels, cheeses, crackers and tomato
3rd shelf: potatoes, tomatoes, lettuce, eggplant cucumber and kiwifruits
on top of and in the oven: fruit pie, decorated cakes and jellies
on the bench: pink jelly, various cookies and donuts, a blueberry pie and a jar of lollies

Photobucket

anyways, that's all for now (: I'll post another blog another day with some jewellery bits and pieces
